What is infidelity counseling?
Dr. Sala works with couples to help them heal after infidelity. She can work with you to answer difficult questions, such as Is the marriage worth saving? Why did it happen? Is it likely to happen again? Is there any hope? Will you be able to forgive your partner? Will you be able to trust again? How do we handle the other man/woman? What should we tell the children?
During the immediate crisis of the affair, Dr. Sala works with couples to survive the nightmarish days/weeks immediately after discovery, establish safety, create a healing process of disclosure, increase accountability, evaluate their commitments to each other, and help the unfaithful partner to offer comfort to the betrayed partner
During affair recovery counseling, Dr. Sala will help you empathize with each others pain, move on past the affair and hurt, explore why the affair happened, examine the dynamics of the relationship that may have made it vulnerable to an affair, and rebuild trust and intimacy. It's hard to believe, but marriage can be better after an affair if you and your partner put in the work.
Dr. Sala also works with:
Individuals who chose to not continue the marriage. Dr. Sala can work with you to help you recover from the trauma you have been through.
The third party ("the other man/woman"). Dr. Sala can be a nonjudgmental place where you can talk about what you are going through and help you decide what to do next.
