Emotional Dysregulation Treatment

Emotional Dysregulation & Anger Management Treatment in Greenwich, Darien, Westport, Westchester, and Surrounding Areas in Connecticut and New York

We work with individuals who experience emotions more intensely than others, and thus have difficulties with emotion regulation. They may engage in impulsive behaviors, have frequent conflicts with others, and have difficulties controlling their anger.

We use a treatment called Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help improve emotion regulation

What is emotional dysregulation?

Some individuals experience emotions more intensely than others and have difficulties regulating them. This may result in challenges with anger management, frequent conflicts, and/or impulsive behaviors.

What is your treatment approach?

Our approach is based on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which is an evidence-based treatment developed for people who have difficulties dealing with emotions. DBT encourages change but also promotes acceptance. It combines aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Zen mindfulness.

What experience do you have treating emotional dysregulation?

All therapists have experience facilitating DBT groups and/or with individual DBT. Dr. Sala has extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) from the Connecticut VA and Yale University. Dr. Roos has training in DBT from Yale University.
