What is parenting therapy?
Parenting therapy is a specialized form of therapy that works with parents to help manage parenting concerns, challenges, and difficult moments in parenting.
What types of skills will I learn?
We will teach you skills that will help you be the kind of parent that you want to be. For example, we often work with parents in teaching them how to help their child regulate their emotions, reduce problematic behaviors, and set clear expectations. We can also work with you to identify, address, and manage your own triggers (often related to past experiences) that may be affecting the way that you relate to your child.
What kind of expertise do you have?
Dr. Cohen has extensive expertise in working with parents. He has worked at the Yale Child Study Center, where he helped parents with parenting concerns.
